I took part to the Snaefellsnes Premium Tour on September 14th. The pick-up time at my hostel was just on time. Since I booked the “Premium” experience, the bus was smaller and more comfortable than the normal tourist coaches. In addition, the Premium experience gives the opportunity not only to experience better the single sights, thanks to the availability of more time, but also to have extra stops all along the itinerary, which is impossible to do for bigger group of tourists. The bus driver was also our guide for the day. He was extremely nice and knowledgeable and told the group a great amount of information about the history, the fauna and the geology of Iceland. The places we visited are gorgeous. The small fishermen’s villages, the fermented shark factory and museum (one of my favorite highlights of this tour), the “Church Mountain”, the crater of an old volcano, the seal shore, where we had the chance to see two seals playing with each other, and much more.
