Make Goðafoss Waterfall Your Favorite Piece
Goðafoss Waterfall in all its glory is a magnificent sight. It is nicknamed “the Beauty,” in contrast to the neighboring Dettifoss Waterfall, which is called “the Beast”!
Goðafoss translates to “Waterfall of the Gods” in English. It was given this name around the year 1000, when Christianity was starting to become prevalent in Iceland.
Standing so close to the symmetrical, curved cliff, with so much water crashing down, you can truly feel the power of nature. The water comes from the river Skjálfandafljót, which originates at the Vatnajökull glacier in the Icelandic highlands.
