What will I experience on this tour?
After an easy pickup, we will set out on your journey from Reykjavík to the Snæfellsnes Peninsula.
This peninsula is considered one of the must-visit places in Iceland for its sheer variety of scenery all in one day tour.
Once we enter the peninsula you’ll get the chance to try spotting some local wildlife near Ytri-Tunga Farm. This spot is home to a seal colony and many local sea birds.
Next up, you will get to stop at the peaceful village of Arnarstapi.
This is a great chance to go for a walk along the wild shoreline and also grab a bite to eat in the village (lunch is not included in the tour).
The rest of the day is packed with amazing landscapes.
You’ll get to enjoy the view from the black-pebbled beach of Djúpalónssandur before carrying on to the fishing village of Grundarfjörður.
Here you will get to witness one of Iceland’s most iconic landmarks – the symmetrical peak of Kirkjufell, which towers above the village.
Don’t forget to snap a picture!
The scenery of this area has a rich geological and historical background.
Your guide will be on hand all day to enrich your experience in the language you selected.
Finally you will get to pass through the fascinating Berserkjahraun lava fields on the way back to Reykjavík.

What others are saying
Snaefellsnes National Park is a peninsula located in Western Iceland. It has been referred to as a scaled down version of Iceland as you’ll find many of the wonders of the island in this area. It has tall mountains complete with a glacier and also a volcano. We walked along a path that took us along the coast where we saw beautiful volcanic rock formations. It was an interesting and enjoyable little hike on our trip around the Ring Road. I’d say it’s worth visiting.

Had an amazing tour today with Roman and Sindri – #bestguideand driver ever! Were able to see all of the beauty of the Peninsula and while driving around, Roman did a great job discussing the geology of the area and some great stories! Sindri also was fantastic – driving on very narrow roads and making a couple of turns that I was not certain could be made! All in all, fantastic day!

Today we have made this tour with Elvingur as a guide. All the visits were wonderful and he has managed the timetables perfectly: enough time to enjoy the places, very good coordination in stops to have a break or to go to the restrooms and follow the itinerary to see all the natural attractions. Congratulations for him and for the female driver because she had to drive under heavy rain in some moments.
